Janis Casco Blayer - Fine Artist

Janis Casco Blayer’s studio and plein air paintings from the Northwest, Hawaii and her world travels reflect diversity in her paintings. She has worked in a variety of mediums including oil, water color, zinc plate etching and bronze sculpture among others. Casco Blayer has studied under a dozen internationally recognized artists, among them Leon Holmes and John Wilson (AU), Andrew Tisch (NZ), Mian Situ (China), Joe Paquet and Dave Santillanes (US).

Janis’ impressionistic style captures the curious nature of animals and personalities of people. Her landscapes evoke the mood inspired by memorable settings in nature. Her work is available for purchase in her studio, Valley Art Center in Clarkston, Washington and at Sargent’s Fine Art Gallery in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii and by commission.

Janis moved from the Northwest to Maui in 1979 and lived in Lahaina for 45years until the great Lahaina Fire August 8, 2023 that destroyed over 80% of the town. She now resides with her husband, Jeff and their two cats in Buckeye, Arizona where she still focuses on all the subject matter she enjoyed in the past and now adds stunning southwest landscape paintings, cowboys, horses and rodeo to her repertoire.
